Animaccord plans to release new Masha and the Bear content until at least 2025. The news comes as the company preps to release “Masha’s Songs,” the fourth season of the series, and one dedicated to showcasing the cultural values of different countries through popular regional music. The new season will debut this June in Russia, with expansion to the UK and other countries planned for later this year.
The new season is the latest milestone for Masha and the Bear as the franchise reaches its 10th anniversary. The animated series achieved an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records for its episode, “Recipe for Disaster,” which became the most-watched cartoon on YouTube upon clearing 3.5 billion views. Additionally, new apps, licensing agreements, retail partnerships, and theatrical engagements have bolstered the series’ profile in recent months.
Since making its debut on UK Tiny Pop TV in December 2017, Masha and the Bear has grown to be a top-rated over-the-air series, with additional brand exposure across pay TV on Cartoonito, streaming on Netflix, and its dedicated English YouTube channel. According to BrandTrends, the franchise achieved a 22% increase in brand awareness in the UK, and made the Top 5 list of kids’ favorite brands across Europe.
Masha and the Bear is available to watch on Netflix and Universal Kids in the U.S., with Spanish airings on Univision.
