Bandai is making moves to bring its Union Arena game to a wider, international audience.
Union Arena is a Japanese trading card game originally released this past March, featuring a full collection of anime and game intellectual properties (IP). The game offers starter decks, booster packs, and more to collectors and players alike. Each deck features a theme inspired by a single IP, and cards from different titles can’t be in the same deck, so players are encouraged to pick their favorite anime and battle it out with others. Now, the game is hitting North American markets with a new English Version release.
Union Arena English Version will launch with titles already popular with North American audiences. The three anime included in the initial launch are Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Hunter x Hunter, and Jujutsu Kaisen. The release will also feature a new brand logo and card back.
The official announcement of the game’s English Version release was held Dec. 27 in the Bandai Card Games Metaverse Lobby, a digital space where fans can create avatars and find other players to battle. Bandai offered virtual Bleach and Hunter x Hunter costumes to those in attendance, as well as sneak peeks into card art, future events, and more.
