Pop Mart is continuing to expand globally. The Chinese pop culture and art toy company has recently opened stores in Auckland, New Zealand and Brisbane, Australia.

Pop Mart’s Auckland location opened on Oct. 17 at Westfield Newmarket Shopping Centre, a trendy landmark of the city. This is the company’s second store in New Zealand.

From the LED screen entrance to the hanging Skullpanda Fantasy Route sculpture, customers will feel immersed in a world of art toys. The store has also set up a photoshoot site with the theme of Dimoo traveling the world. After experiencing various cultures, Dimoo arrives in Auckland, the “Capital of Sails.” At the store’s grand opening, Pop Mart released a series of limited-edition figurines, including Skullpanda Dark Maid, Labubu Shepherd, Kubo King of the White Deer, and Pucky the Ghost – Sparkle Pink.

Westfield Newmarket is located in Auckland’s Newmarket business district, which is one of the most extensive areas of shopping, entertainment, and hotel hubs. There are more than 600 retail stores; 120 cafes, bars, and restaurants; bowling; and other facilities. There are multiple convenient transportation options including a nearby train station, bus stops, and ample parking space.

Pop Mart’s first physical store in New Zealand opened at Queen Street in downtown Auckland in 2022. So far, it has established a diversified channel system comprising two physical stores, two Robo Shops, and one eCom channel for New Zealand customers.

In addition to the new store in Auckland, Pop Mart has also opened another store in Brisbane on Sept. 27. The store is located at Westfield Mt Gravatt and is the largest Pop Mart store by far in Australia. After opening an Indooroopilly store in July, Pop Mart tapped into the “Sunshine City” once again.

As the third largest city in Australia and the home of the 2032 Summer Olympics, Brisbane is located on the south of the Sunshine Coast and the north of the tourist attraction Gold Coast. The infrastructure construction for the Olympics is expected to further enhance Brisbane’s urban environment, making the city a leading tourist destination. Because of this business potential, Pop Mart has opened two stores in Brisbane in just three months.

Westfield Mt Gravatt, the shopping mall where the new store is located, is one of the major malls in Brisbane, with more than 470 brands including supermarkets, restaurants, cinemas, and other entertainment facilities.

At the entrance of the store, customers can see the photoshoot site of the giant Dimoo statue, which is decorated with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The store has also set up a decorative wall inside featuring The Monsters Family, including Labubu, Zimomo, and Tycoco.

Opening day welcomed the return of Pucky the Ghost – Sparkle Pink and A Boy – Mint. More limited-edition products joined the grand celebration on Sept. 30, including Skullpanda Dark Maid, Labubu Shepherd, and Ice Erosion Molly “Prisma.” The Brisbane-limited Zimomo Sunny Figurine also made its debut.

This year, Pop Mart has opened three physical stores in Sydney. So far, the company has eight physical stores, 16 Robo Shops, and one e-commerce channel in Australia.
