Brio and Transport for London (TfL) are teaming up for a new train set.

Swedish brand Brio already boasts a portfolio of wooden toy offerings, including several trains and train set accessories. In a partnership with TfL, the company has developed a new set inspired by the London Underground rail network.

The Brio World London Underground Train set, designed for kids ages 3 and up, will launch this month. The set includes a three-part push train inspired by the London Underground’s red, white, and blue design; a tube tunnel; a London Underground sign; and two characters. Kids can push the train to play sounds and lights for interactive play.

Our range of toy trains, known as Brio World, is designed to help children discover and explore the world in a fun and playful way. Introducing such an iconic train to our playsets is a fantastic opportunity for children all around the world to get a sense of the London experience.
Stina Wallin, International Product Manager for Brio

Brio’s new London Underground set joins the Trains of the World series. The other set currently available in this collection is the TGV INOUI Train, inspired by the high-speed train line running from Paris to the French Riviera.

The Brio partnership comes as part of the new licensing program TfL is developing with agency IMG. TfL invites those interested in licensing its brand to reach out through the IMG website.

“With Brio being one of the world’s leading toy companies, we look forward to bringing our instantly recognizable Underground trains to children across the world, allowing them to play with a little piece of London and its transport network at home,” says Ellen Sankey, Brand Licensing Manager for TfL.

Brio was acquired by Ravensburger in 2015, and has since continued to release new toys across various categories. Brio has previously partnered with Disney for Disney Princess vehicle sets and Mickey & Friends vehicle sets. The new Brio World London Underground Train set will be available worldwide in-store and online at Amazon, John Lewis, and Argos with a recommended retail price of €49.99.
