Funko‘s iconic collectibles are continuing their spread to new markets.
Perhaps best known for its Pop! figures, which feature characters from across pop culture depicted in the company’s style, Funko has made a name for itself in the collectibles market over the past 20 year. Now, those figures — as well as other Funko offerings — are expanding their reach in Brazil, thanks to a new partnership with distributor Candide. Candide is a leading toy distributor and has a robust presence in retail networks across the country.
The new partnership will kick off at this year’s CCXP in Brazil, running from Nov. 30-Dec. 3. Candide will showcase an exclusive Funko booth at the event. The comic convention is expected to welcome more than 300,000 visitors. “There is no better place to highlight this great strategic partnership than at the upcoming mega event CCXP,” says Jorge Pereira, Sales Director LATAM, Funko.
Funko attended last year’s CCXP, which was the Washington-based company’s first international convention. The company hosted an event, Freddy’s Beach Bash, that invited fans to play games, enter giveaways, and browse its many products.
Candide will begin officially distributing Funko products later this year. The partnership marks an additional step in Funko’s continued efforts to expand globally.
