The reins have officially been handed over at Spielwarenmesse eG.
Florian Hess, Jens Pflüger, and Christian Ulrich took the helm as the new executive board at Spielwarenmesse eG this week following the departure of CEO Ernst Kick (CEO) and Dr. Hans-Juergen Richter. The organization is now recharged and looking ahead to the growth of its World of Toys international trade fair program and other initiatives in support of the global toy industry following some pandemic-fueled derailments.
“We have made excellent progress in developing innovative concepts that embrace the accelerated introduction of digitalization whilst at the same time focusing on the unique and indispensable experience of a physical trade fair,” says Spielwarenmesse Spokesperson Christian Ulrich. “We will continue to build on the more than 70 years of success enjoyed by Spielwarenmesse eG and to live up to the future requirements and expectations of all trade-fair participants.”
The new trio will split duties, with Hess taking on the role of fair management to oversee the organization of Spielwarenmesse’s trade fairs, marketing, and the World of Toys program. Pflüger is responsible for finance, human resources, and IT while Ulrich will lead member marketing and PR in addition to serving as spokesperson.
The 72nd Spielwarenmesse will take place Feb. 2-6, 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany.
