Jazwares’ Squishmallows plush toy line is coming to theaters through a movie deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
Squishmallows is a $1 billion global lifestyle franchise sold in more than 60 countries. The brand features more than 3,00 original characters and licensed plush for brands like Disney, Pokémon, Netflix’s Kpop Demon Hunters, and more.
Its signature squish and unique personalities will be explored as the film enters development. Beau Flynn is producing the project alongside Jazwares via FlynnPictureCo. Flynn has more than three decades of experience spanning more than 35 films, including Disney’s Moana (2026) and DC’s Black Adam. Shelby Thomas also joins the team, overseeing for FlynnPictureCo.
This movie is not the brand’s first category crossover. Squishmallows’ reach grows through a robust licensing program featuring more than 120 global partners. Beyond plush, the brand appears across numerous categories, including apparel, beauty, home decor, and lifestyle goods. Notable partnerships include PUMA’s footwear collection, McDonald’s Happy Meals, and Horizon Group USA’s DIY craft kits.
