Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is headed to video game consoles next year.
ZAG Games — the digital gaming division of ZAG America — is following the success of its recent Roblox title with a console game inspired by the Miraculous franchise. The company inked a deal with GameMill Entertainment and Magic Pockets to create the as-yet-untitled action-adventure game that is slated for release for holiday 2022. While no specifics were given, the game is likely to arrive for the Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
“We’re looking to create a highly immersive experience featuring various gameplay elements while empowering players of any age to enjoy a new Miraculous Ladybug experience,” says Elinor Schops, vice president, gaming experience, ZAG. “The original game script will align closely with the television series, and we are confident that Magic Pockets and GameMill will bring their expertise, dedication, and passion to the game that will have fans the world over adding it to their holiday ‘22 gift lists.”
GameMill Entertainment is no stranger to licensed games as the company released last year’s G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout and is currently developing a drag racing game in partnership with NHRA.
The Miraculous franchise first entered the realm of digital gaming with the Miraculous Ladybug & Cat Noir mobile game in 2018. In Roblox, Miraculous RP: Quests of Ladybug & Cat Noir was released this year, and the company is working with CrazyLabs for a new mobile game — a bubble shooter called Miraculous Ladybug Puzzle RPG — that should hit iOS, Android, and other devices in the first quarter of next year.
