Masters of the Universe is making its next move.
The live-action film is now streaming on Prime Video, extending Mattel’s latest push behind the 40-plus-year-old franchise from theaters into the home entertainment window. Director Travis Knight’s take on Eternia stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and Jared Leto as Skeletor.
To support the streaming debut, LG Electronics teamed with Prime Video on a home viewing activation built around 2026 LG OLED evo TVs. The collaboration introduces Creator Original Picture Mode, a new setting that gives studios greater control over picture parameters, including color balance, shadow detail, motion handling, and noise reduction.
LG also worked a little Eternian magic into its smart TV experience. Viewers using compatible Magic Remotes can say, “I have the power,” to pull up Masters of the Universe, bonus material, and related Prime Video content.
“With Creator Original Picture Mode and our interactive Magic Remote feature, we’re giving fans new ways to engage with Masters of the Universe — and empowering them to relive the excitement, energy, and optimism that made it iconic,” said Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.
The film’s production also leaned into sustainability initiatives behind the scenes, using Mercedes electric vehicles, on-site charging stations, and hydrogen power units during filming in England.
Beyond the screen, Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel continue supporting Save the Children through a “You Have the Power!” campaign designed to help children worldwide.
The broader franchise push comes as Mattel continues expanding Masters of the Universe across entertainment, toys, licensing, and fan engagement. The Toy Book’s 2026 Licensing & Entertainment Issue puts that strategy front and center with an exclusive Masters of the Universe editorial cover and a four-page feature exploring Mattel’s “Masters” Plan for the brand’s next era.
